Most fluting and testliner is made from OCC (old corrugated containers). The stock-prep line turns bales of waste board into clean fibre furnish for the paper machine.

Stages

  1. Pulping — drum or hydraulic pulper breaks bales into slurry and rejects large contaminants.
  2. Coarse cleaning — junk remover / ragger pulls out plastics, wires, ropes.
  3. High-density cleaning — removes heavy contraries (staples, sand).
  4. Screening — pressure screens separate fibres from stickies and specks.
  5. Refining — double-disc or conical refiner develops strength (bonding).
  6. Thickening — decker/thickener sets consistency before the machine chest.

Why it matters

Poor stock prep = spots, holes and weak paper. A well-tuned OCC line is the difference between saleable fluting and broke. When we source a line, we verify the pulper, cleaner and screen makes/models, not just the paper machine.
